Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is preparing for another refurbishment project this fall, with Grandstand Spirits Pool Bar scheduled to close for several months beginning Sept. 18, 2026.
The poolside bar, located next to the resort’s Surfboard Bay Pool, will remain unavailable through mid-December. Walt Disney World has not announced a specific reopening date, but guests will not be left without a nearby option during the closure. Disney says a temporary pool bar will operate in the area while Grandstand Spirits is being refurbished.
Guests staying at the resort may also see or hear construction activity during daytime hours as crews complete the work. Disney has not revealed the exact scope of the project or detailed what changes visitors can expect when Grandstand Spirits reopens.
Grandstand Spirits serves as the primary pool bar for the Surfboard Bay Pool area, offering alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in a casual outdoor setting. Disney’s current menu includes specialty cocktails, frozen drinks, draft beer, sangria and wine. The location is categorized as a quick-service kiosk and normally operates from midday into the evening, although hours can vary.
Its position directly beside Surfboard Bay Pool makes it a convenient stop for guests spending time at the resort rather than visiting the theme parks. The temporary bar should help minimize the impact of the refurbishment, particularly for visitors planning pool days during the fall and early holiday season.
The work follows a separate major refurbishment of Surfboard Bay Pool earlier in 2026. Disney closed the resort’s main pool and nearby kiddie pool in January for maintenance, with the project continuing through late April. During that closure, guests could use the Grand Slam Pool at All-Star Sports or visit pools at the neighboring All-Star Music and All-Star Movies resorts.
Surfboard Bay Pool has since returned to operation. The 242,471-gallon swimming area is surrounded by oversized surfboards and carries the sports resort’s playful beach theme. A nearby kiddie pool provides an option for younger guests, while the smaller Grand Slam Pool is themed like a baseball diamond and includes a Goofy fountain.
There is currently no indication that either swimming pool will close as part of the upcoming Grandstand Spirits refurbishment. The announced work is focused on the bar, with the temporary beverage location intended to continue serving the pool area.
Other dining at All-Star Sports will also remain available. End Zone Food Court, located inside Stadium Hall, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with options including pizza, pasta, burgers and desserts. Guests looking for a more substantial meal during the pool bar closure will therefore continue to have the resort’s primary quick-service restaurant nearby.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is one of Walt Disney World’s Value Resorts and features oversized decorations inspired by sports including football, baseball, basketball, tennis and surfing. Transportation to the theme parks and other destinations is provided primarily by complimentary Disney buses.
For guests arriving this fall, the practical impact of the refurbishment should be relatively limited compared with a pool or room closure. Grandstand Spirits will be unavailable beginning Sept. 18, but Disney’s temporary bar will keep poolside beverage service operating while work continues.
The refurbishment is currently expected to last through mid-December, meaning it will cover much of the fall travel season and extend into the early holiday period. Guests staying at All-Star Sports during that time should watch for signs around Surfboard Bay Pool identifying the temporary bar location and any adjusted hours.
