Spaceship Earth has stood at the entrance of EPCOT since opening day, but the attraction hidden inside that enormous silver sphere has changed dramatically over the years.

In this documentary, we trace the complete history of Spaceship Earth, beginning with Walt Disney’s original vision for EPCOT and the revised theme park that followed. We explore the influence of Buckminster Fuller, Ray Bradbury, Expo 67 and world’s-fair design before looking at how Disney built one of the most recognizable structures on Earth.

Then we travel through every major version of the attraction, from the original Vic Perrin narration to the Walter Cronkite, Jeremy Irons and Judi Dench editions. Along the way, we revisit “Tomorrow’s Child,” the changing descent scenes, lost Audio-Animatronics, corporate sponsors, Earth Station, Global Neighborhood, Project Tomorrow and the former sponsor lounge that became GEO-82.

Can you guess 25 Walt Disney World rides from nothing but their audio?

In this Disney World audio quiz, you will hear a five-to-seven-second clip from a present-day ride or transportation attraction, then try to identify it before the answer is revealed.

The challenge includes attraction music, dialogue, sound effects, announcements, and familiar audio from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. You may immediately recognize classics like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain, but newer attractions and less obvious background sounds could be much tougher.
