Walt Disney World has officially set an opening date for its newest resort. Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will welcome its first guests on July 1, 2027, bringing a new nature-inspired destination to the shores of Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom.
Disney confirmed the date as part of a new look inside the resort’s accommodations, while also revealing when guests will be able to begin booking stays. Disney Vacation Club members will receive the first opportunity to make rental reservations on Oct. 6, 2026, followed by Walt Disney World Annual Passholders on Oct. 7. Reservations will open to all guests on Oct. 8.
The opening date gives a firm timeline to a project Disney had previously described only as arriving in summer 2027.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will include 967 rooms and a variety of accommodation types, ranging from compact studios to larger villas and suites. The resort is being designed around the natural setting of Bay Lake, with artwork and details inspired by Disney animated films that explore the outdoors.
Among the newly revealed accommodations are one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses positioned along the waterfront. The freestanding retreats will feature A-frame architecture, floor-to-ceiling windows and private porches overlooking Bay Lake. One-bedroom Lake Houses will sleep up to five guests, while the two-bedroom versions will accommodate as many as eight.
The Lake Houses will draw inspiration from Disney’s Brother Bear, including artwork reflecting the film’s Alaskan environment and a Northern Lights-inspired lighting feature in the primary bedroom.
Other room categories will incorporate different Disney Animation stories. Duo studios designed for two guests will feature inspiration from Encanto, while deluxe studios sleeping up to four will use woodland imagery and archival concept art from Bambi. Resort studios will include artistic elements inspired by Pocahontas.
Disney is also planning several higher-end accommodations. Select club-level rooms will include access to The Artist’s Nest, a concierge lounge positioned above the treetops with views toward Magic Kingdom. The Hidden Willow Presidential Suite will sleep up to six guests and include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and views of Bay Lake and nighttime fireworks.
The resort itself will extend the nature theme beyond the guest rooms. Previously announced amenities include The Wetlands, a large outdoor recreation area with the Lakeshore Lagoon feature pool, Daydream River lazy river, children’s play areas and additional recreation spaces.
Three primary dining locations have also been announced. Moonglade will serve as the resort’s waterfront table-service restaurant, while Bay Lake Provisions will offer quick-service meals, specialty coffee and grab-and-go options. Paint Out Point Bar & Grill will provide food and beverages near the pool area.
Guests will also be able to visit Dandelion Terrace, a lounge overlooking Bay Lake with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being constructed on the former site of Disney’s River Country water park, along the south shore of Bay Lake. Disney has emphasized the property’s connection to the surrounding landscape, using natural materials, expansive windows and artwork inspired by decades of Disney storytelling centered on nature.
With July 1 now officially marked on the calendar, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge has moved from a broadly scheduled 2027 project to a resort guests can begin actively planning around. The next major milestone comes in October, when reservations begin opening for stays at Walt Disney World’s newest resort.
