Two popular dining locations at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter are preparing for an extended refurbishment this fall. Scat Cat’s Club – Café and Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge will both temporarily close beginning Oct. 6, 2026, with the two locations expected to return on different timelines.
The café is currently expected to reopen sometime in December, while the lounge is not scheduled to return until January 2027. Disney has not announced specific reopening dates for either location or revealed what changes will be made during the refurbishment.
Guests staying at French Quarter will still be able to get one of the resort’s signature treats while the café is closed. Mickey-shaped beignets and coffee will temporarily move to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, the resort’s main quick-service restaurant.
That relocation will also include the seasonal Ghoulish Delight beignets through Nov. 1. The Halloween offering will therefore remain available despite the closure of its regular home.
Evening beverage service will continue as well. Disney plans to operate a temporary bar near the café from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. during the refurbishment, giving guests an alternative while Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge is unavailable.
The lounge is known for more than cocktails and appetizers, however. Its New Orleans-inspired atmosphere regularly includes live jazz performances, which Disney currently schedules on select evenings. According to guidance published through Disney’s planDisney service, some live entertainment will relocate to the resort lobby on select nights while the lounge is closed.
Disney has not released a complete entertainment schedule for the refurbishment period, so guests interested in catching the live performances should check resort information during their stay.
Scat Cat’s Club – Café sits just outside the lounge and has become closely associated with French Quarter’s Mickey-shaped beignets. Disney normally operates the café throughout much of the day, serving traditional powdered-sugar beignets, specialty versions and coffee beverages. Adult guests can also order Baton Rouge Beignets filled with a choice of alcoholic liqueur.
Next door, Scat Cat’s Club – Lounge offers a more relaxed evening experience inspired by the music and flavors of New Orleans. Its menu includes Southern-inspired cocktails, craft beer and appetizers, while live jazz adds to the resort’s French Quarter atmosphere.
The upcoming work is not the first recent refurbishment for the café. Scat Cat’s Club – Café underwent a shorter refurbishment in 2024, during which beignets were similarly relocated to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. The longer closure scheduled this time will affect both the café and lounge for several months, although Disney has not indicated whether the project will include major design or operational changes.
Other dining locations at Port Orleans French Quarter are expected to continue operating. Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory will remain the primary location for breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Mardi Grogs continues serving drinks near the Doubloon Lagoon pool.
For guests visiting this fall, the most significant change begins Oct. 6. While the familiar Scat Cat’s spaces will be unavailable, Disney’s temporary arrangements mean beignets, coffee, evening drinks and at least some entertainment will remain part of the French Quarter experience.
The café is expected to be the first of the two locations to return in December, followed by the lounge in January 2027. Until Disney provides firm reopening dates and additional refurbishment details, guests should check Walt Disney World’s dining information closer to their stay.
