Can you identify 30 Walt Disney World locations from just one picture? This Disney World GeoGuessr Challenge mixes things up with four different rounds. We’ll start with 10 rides, move into 10 restaurants, then test you on five Disney World resorts before finishing with the hardest category of all: five shops. The challenge takes you across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the Walt Disney World resort hotels. You’ll see everything from classic attractions like Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth to restaurants, hotel details, and obscure shops that even longtime Disney fans may struggle to recognize. The difficulty ramps up as the quiz goes along, so keep track of your score out of 30 and drop your final total in the comments. Also let us know which category was easiest for you — rides, restaurants, resorts, or shops. Disney World GeoGuessr Challenge Ep 44 | Can You Guess the Location in 5 Seconds?
When Walt Disney World opened on October 1, 1971, Magic Kingdom already had attractions like Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and “it’s a small world” — but some of the rides we now consider essential Disney classics were nowhere to be found. There was no Space Mountain. No PeopleMover. No Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. And incredibly, Disney did not even plan to build Pirates of the Caribbean in Florida at first. In this video, we look at 10 beloved Walt Disney World attractions and experiences that weren’t there on opening day, including the surprising reasons they arrived later. Some were delayed by construction and budgets, some depended on corporate sponsors, and others came about because Disney quickly discovered what guests actually wanted from its brand-new Florida park. From Pirates of the Caribbean and Tom Sawyer Island to Space Mountain, Carousel of Progress, the Main Street Electrical Parade, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, this is the story of how the Magic Kingdom we remember was assembled piece by piece during its first decade. 10 Disney World Classics You Thought Were There on Opening Day — But Weren’t
Living with the Land may not be EPCOT’s loudest attraction, but few rides capture the original spirit of the park better. In this video, we take a deep dive into the history of The Land pavilion and the boat ride that began as Listen to the Land before evolving into the attraction Disney World guests know today. We’ll look at how the ride was created, its original scenes and narration, the changes that transformed it into Living with the Land, and the working greenhouses that make it unlike almost anything else at Walt Disney World. Along the way, we explore the innovative growing techniques Disney has demonstrated over the years, the attraction’s connection to EPCOT’s original mission, and why this quiet boat ride has managed to survive decades of major changes around it. For longtime EPCOT fans, Living with the Land is more than a relaxing break from the crowds — it is one of the strongest remaining links to the EPCOT Center that opened in 1982. Do you prefer today’s Living with the Land, or would you bring back elements from the original Listen to the Land? In this Disney World ride challenge, you’ll get a rider’s-eye view from attractions across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Your job is to identify the attraction before the answer is revealed. The challenge includes Disney classics, modern favorites, transportation experiences, and some of the newest versions of Walt Disney World attractions, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad after its 2026 refurbishment, the updated Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and Soarin’ Across America. Disney World GeoGuessr Challenge | Can You Guess the WDW Ride from a POV Image?
For 50 years, one stretch of Bay Lake shoreline has had one of the strangest histories anywhere at Walt Disney World. It began in 1976 as River Country, Disney World’s first water park and a rustic swimming hole filled with slides, beaches, rockwork, and filtered Bay Lake water. After closing in 2001, Disney did something unusual: it left much of the park standing, allowing nature to slowly reclaim the abandoned attractions. Nearly two decades later, Disney finally demolished River Country to build Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Construction began, the old water park disappeared, and then the pandemic brought the project to a sudden halt. For years, the site sat behind construction walls as another unfinished chapter in the property’s history. Now Disney is trying again. Disney Lakeshore Lodge is scheduled to open in 2027 with nearly 1,000 rooms, Disney Vacation Club villas, waterfront Lake Houses, restaurants, pools, and even a lazy river — bringing water attractions back to the former River Country shoreline more than 25 years after the original park closed. In this video, we trace the complete story of River Country, its years as an abandoned Disney ghost town, the rise and fall of Reflections, and the long-awaited rebirth of Bay Lake as Disney Lakeshore Lodge. Would you stay at Lakeshore Lodge, or do you still wish River Country had survived? From River Country to Lakeshore Lodge: The 50-Year Saga of Disney World’s Lost Shoreline
Disney World looks very different than it did even a year ago, and more changes are coming fast. In this video, we’re breaking down what is closed at Walt Disney World right now, what is about to shut down for refurbishment, and which attractions have recently closed for good. We cover current and upcoming closures at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, the resorts, and Disney transportation — including Carousel of Progress, the Walt Disney World Railroad, Coral Reef Restaurant, Typhoon Lagoon, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the Disney Skyliner, and more. We’ll also look at major attractions that are now permanently gone, including DINOSAUR and DinoLand U.S.A., Muppet*Vision 3D and Muppets Courtyard, Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Square Riverboat, and the Rivers of America.
