Block Party Bash was a high-energy Pixar street party presented at Disney’s Hollywood Studios from March 14, 2008, through January 1, 2011. Officially titled Block Party Bash – Disney Presents the Pixar Film Pals, the production was not a traditional parade in which guests simply watched a procession of floats pass by. Instead, it combined a moving parade with large-scale performance stops, transforming sections of the park’s route into temporary outdoor stages filled with characters, dancers, acrobats, and audience participation.

The procession was led by the Green Army Men from Toy Story, who helped energize the crowd as the party moved through the park. Its elaborate units were themed to three major Pixar films: Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and A Bug’s Life. Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Mike Wazowski, Sulley, Flik, Princess Atta, and other Pixar characters appeared throughout the production. Smaller “tweener” floats resembled colorful stacks of toy blocks, while trampoline units unfolded into performance platforms for acrobats. Dancers, performers on jumping stilts, and a miniature caravan of electric scooters added to the deliberately chaotic atmosphere. During the finale, telescoping towers rose from the floats to reveal Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone from The Incredibles.
Block Party Bash originally debuted at Disney California Adventure on May 5, 2005, as part of Disneyland Resort’s 50th-anniversary celebration. After its California run ended in January 2008, the production was relocated to Florida, where it replaced the more traditional Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade at the recently renamed Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The show’s defining feature was its interactivity. When the floats reached designated performance areas, the procession paused for choreographed segments built around themes such as playing with the toys, screaming with the monsters, and dancing with the bugs. The soundtrack incorporated upbeat pop and party music, while performers encouraged guests along the route to clap, jump, and dance along with the Pixar characters.

After Block Party Bash ended, many of its floats were adapted for Pixar Pals: Countdown to Fun!, which debuted at Hollywood Studios on January 16, 2011. The successor removed the lengthy show stops and operated as a more conventional moving parade.
Today, Block Party Bash is remembered as one of the park’s most physically energetic entertainment offerings. Its oversized floats, trampoline performers, neon costumes, and unusually participatory format captured a specific period in Hollywood Studios history when Pixar characters were becoming increasingly central to the park’s identity.
