Mizner’s Lounge was the longtime cocktail lounge on the second floor of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, tucked just off the resort’s grand lobby and closely associated with the hotel’s old-world elegance. For years, it served as one of the quieter adult spaces at Walt Disney World, offering cocktails, wine, beer, and light bites in a setting that matched the Grand Floridian’s Victorian seaside-resort identity.
The lounge was named for Addison Mizner, the influential architect whose Mediterranean Revival style helped shape the look of early 20th-century Palm Beach. That reference fit the Grand Floridian’s broader design language, which drew from grand resort hotels, turn-of-the-century leisure travel, and the polished formality of Florida’s historic coastal architecture. Mizner’s Lounge did not have the overt theatricality of many Disney bars. Instead, it leaned into dark wood, soft lighting, upholstered seating, and a clubby atmosphere that felt more hotel lounge than theme park experience.
Its location helped define its personality. Mizner’s sat near the balcony area where the Grand Floridian Society Orchestra performed for many years, allowing guests to enjoy live music drifting through the lobby while having a drink before dinner at nearby restaurants such as Cítricos or Victoria & Albert’s. It was also a favored stop for monorail resort hopping, especially for adults looking for a calmer alternative to the busier bars at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Historically, Mizner’s belonged to the Grand Floridian’s earlier identity as Walt Disney World’s most formal resort. The hotel opened in 1988 as Disney’s flagship deluxe property, and its dining and lounge lineup emphasized refinement, service, and a sense of grown-up vacation luxury. Mizner’s supported that image without trying to become a destination on its own. It was understated, reliable, and quietly atmospheric.
The lounge closed in 2019 as part of the transformation that created Enchanted Rose, a larger Beauty and the Beast-inspired lounge that also absorbed the former Commander Porter’s space. That replacement gave the resort a more contemporary, character-adjacent bar with broader seating and a more overt Disney identity, but it also marked the end of a subtler Grand Floridian tradition.
Mizner’s Lounge is remembered fondly by longtime Walt Disney World guests who appreciated its calm, mature atmosphere. It was never one of Disney World’s flashiest bars, but it represented a particular era of Grand Floridian elegance: polished, quiet, musical, and distinctly removed from the noise of the parks.
