Christmas has arrived in Toy Story Land, and Alien Swirling Saucers is celebrating with a completely revamped holiday soundtrack.
The attraction debuted four seasonal songs on November 4, 2026, as part of Walt Disney World’s annual Christmas celebrations.
Although Disney previously announced the new music, firsthand reports from the attraction’s opening day have confirmed an important detail: the holiday recordings have completely replaced the ride’s regular soundtrack.
That’s a departure from previous years, when Christmas songs were mixed into the attraction’s existing musical rotation.
The update also marks the first holiday season featuring Lilypad, the Toy Story 5 character who became the attraction’s new DJ in September.
Four Christmas Songs Now Playing
Guests riding Alien Swirling Saucers during the holiday season will hear one of four Christmas songs.
The confirmed recordings are:
“Toyland”
“Swirling, Swirling, Saucers”
“Joy to the Swirl”
“Deck the Halls”
The songs play in a repeating rotation, giving guests an opportunity to experience different music during subsequent rides.
Each recording accompanies the attraction’s spinning ride vehicles as they move around the circular platforms.
The music is an important part of the experience because the attraction’s movements are synchronized with its soundtrack.
Unlike a conventional spinning ride, Alien Swirling Saucers features vehicles that repeatedly change direction as they travel through the attraction.
The combination of music, movement, and colorful lighting helps create the illusion of a playful intergalactic adventure.
Disney Replaces the Regular Soundtrack for Christmas
The biggest change for 2026 involves how Disney has incorporated the holiday music.
In previous years, Alien Swirling Saucers featured Christmas recordings alongside its regular soundtrack.
The attraction previously used seasonal versions of “Up on the Housetop” and “Deck the Halls.”
For 2026, Disney has introduced four holiday recordings and removed the regular music from the rotation for the duration of the seasonal overlay.
Even the returning “Deck the Halls” has received a new arrangement.
That means guests who experienced the attraction during previous Christmas seasons will encounter a different musical presentation this year.
The change also makes the seasonal experience more consistent.
Rather than potentially receiving a standard song during a holiday visit, guests will hear Christmas music on every ride.
Lilypad Celebrates Her First Christmas in Toy Story Land
The new soundtrack arrives just two months after Alien Swirling Saucers received another significant update.
In September 2026, Disney introduced Lilypad, a character from Pixar’s Toy Story 5, as the attraction’s new DJ.
The update brought new music and interactive elements to the Toy Story Land attraction.
Lilypad appears as part of the ride’s entertainment presentation, providing music and games for guests waiting nearby.
The character’s arrival represented a notable change to an attraction that had operated with a largely consistent musical presentation since opening.
Now, Lilypad is participating in her first Christmas celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The character continues to serve as the attraction’s DJ during the holiday overlay, playing the seasonal recordings for guests.
Her presence also provides a connection to Toy Story 5, which was released earlier this year.
A Different Kind of Christmas Overlay
Alien Swirling Saucers has participated in Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Christmas celebrations for several years.
The attraction’s holiday transformation has traditionally emphasized music rather than extensive physical modifications to the ride.
That approach fits naturally with Toy Story Land’s playful setting, where guests are surrounded by oversized toys and decorations.
The attraction itself is themed around the Little Green Men from the Toy Story films.
Guests board colorful rocket-shaped vehicles and are pulled around the ride platforms by the aliens.
The experience is designed to resemble a toy playset, with oversized figures, colorful lighting, and energetic music.
Seasonal songs provide a relatively simple way to change the atmosphere without altering the attraction’s underlying ride system.
For 2026, however, Disney has gone further by creating a complete Christmas soundtrack rather than mixing a few holiday selections into the regular playlist.
Alien Swirling Saucers’ History
Alien Swirling Saucers opened June 30, 2018, alongside Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The attraction was one of two major new rides introduced with the land, joining Slinky Dog Dash.
Toy Story Mania!, which had opened in 2008, was incorporated into the expanded area.
Alien Swirling Saucers was designed as a family-friendly attraction inspired by the Pizza Planet aliens.
Its relatively short ride duration and unpredictable spinning movements make it a different experience from the nearby Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster.
The attraction has also become a regular part of Hollywood Studios’ seasonal celebrations.
Its holiday soundtrack provides another reason for returning guests to experience the ride during Christmas.
How Long Will the Christmas Music Be Available?
The new Alien Swirling Saucers holiday soundtrack debuted November 4 and is scheduled to remain in operation through January 6, 2027.
That coincides with the end of Walt Disney World’s official holiday season.
The attraction remains available during regular Disney’s Hollywood Studios operating hours.
Guests do not need a Disney Jollywood Nights ticket to experience the Christmas soundtrack.
Disney has not announced whether the four new recordings will return for future holiday seasons.
For now, visitors have approximately two months to experience the completely revamped soundtrack.
And with Lilypad handling the music for the first time, Alien Swirling Saucers has a noticeably different Christmas atmosphere in 2026.
