Guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom this holiday season will have several new ways to capture their Christmas memories, including two newly announced Disney PhotoPass Magic Shots and a special holiday-card photo experience.

Disney world Christmas 2026 Mickey's Very Magic Christmas Party

Disney has revealed the PhotoPass lineup for the 2026 event, which begins November 8 and continues on select nights through December 22.

The offerings include new appearances by Olaf, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse, along with returning favorites featuring characters from The Muppet Christmas Carol, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and other Disney holiday stories.

Disney is also introducing a dedicated holiday photo-card opportunity presented by Shutterfly.

With more than a dozen themed effects and photo props available throughout Magic Kingdom, guests may want to plan their photography stops alongside the party’s parades, fireworks, character greetings, and attraction visits.

Two New Holiday Magic Shots Debut for 2026

The biggest additions to this year’s lineup are two new Magic Shots available along Main Street, U.S.A.

The first features Olaf from Frozen, surrounded by holiday decorations. The cheerful snowman appears wrapped in a purple scarf, with presents, candy canes, and ornaments adding to the Christmas scene.

The second new offering features Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse dressed for the holidays. The characters appear alongside guests with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.

Both effects will be available through participating Disney PhotoPass photographers on Main Street, U.S.A.

Magic Shots use digital effects to add characters, props, or other themed elements to photographs after they are taken. Guests generally pose for an ordinary photograph before the finished image appears in their PhotoPass gallery.

Because specific effects are available only at designated locations, guests should ask photographers which Magic Shots they are offering.

Returning PhotoPass Favorites Throughout Magic Kingdom

Disney is also bringing back several popular holiday photo experiences.

Near the park entrance, guests can pose for a Pluto-themed Magic Shot featuring the character carrying letters to Santa Claus.

Town Square will offer a glowing gift box prop and a Chip ‘n’ Dale holiday ornament effect.

Main Street, U.S.A., will feature several additional opportunities, including Goofy’s gift-themed Magic Shot and a sleigh scene featuring Jack Skellington.

Near the Christmas tree, photographers will offer a Mickey-themed effect featuring decorative holiday lights.

The area around Cinderella Castle will provide additional opportunities, including a Mickey snowman effect and a peppermint-themed Mickey prop.

Winter Tinker Bell will also be available at participating locations facing Cinderella Castle.

Elsewhere in the park, guests can find a holiday Orange Bird effect near the entrance to Adventureland and a Stitch gift box effect near the Tomorrowland bridge.

Liberty Square will feature Bean Bunny and a Muppet Christmas Carol Magic Shot.

Near Haunted Mansion, guests can pose for a holiday effect featuring Zero, Jack Skellington’s ghost dog.

Disney has also confirmed that mistletoe and winter confetti effects will be available through many participating PhotoPass photographers.

New Holiday Photo-Card Experience in Liberty Square

Another addition for 2026 is a dedicated holiday photo-card opportunity presented by Shutterfly.

The experience will be located at the gazebo behind Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square.

The location will feature a sparkling, snow-themed setting designed for seasonal portraits.

Unlike the digitally enhanced Magic Shots, this experience emphasizes a dedicated holiday backdrop.

It provides an option for families and groups who want a more traditional Christmas photograph during their visit.

The Shutterfly partnership also connects the experience with Disney PhotoPass’s broader photo-sharing and holiday-card offerings.

Guests interested in using their party photographs for Christmas cards should remember that purchasing a party ticket does not automatically include downloadable PhotoPass images.

PhotoPass Is Also Available at Select Attractions

In addition to the holiday-themed photography locations, Disney PhotoPass will continue capturing photographs and videos at participating Magic Kingdom attractions.

Disney’s official event information identifies Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and TRON Lightcycle / Run among the attractions offering PhotoPass experiences.

Attraction photography availability depends on the ride’s operating status and the applicable PhotoPass services.

Guests can link their photographs to their Disney accounts using supported admission media, including MagicBands and Disney MagicMobile.

Images can then be viewed through the My Disney Experience app or Disney’s PhotoPass website.

Guests who want to download their photographs can purchase individual images or use an eligible Memory Maker package.

Disney offers both Memory Maker One Day and the standard Memory Maker product, providing different options depending on whether guests want photographs from a single party night or a longer vacation.

Planning Photo Stops During the Christmas Party

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party operates from 7 p.m. until midnight on select evenings, although guests with party tickets can enter Magic Kingdom beginning at 4 p.m.

That early admission window gives visitors additional time to enjoy the park before the exclusive nighttime entertainment begins.

However, guests should not assume every party-specific PhotoPass experience will be available immediately upon entering.

The Christmas party also features Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration, specialty food and beverages, and character appearances.

With so many activities competing for attention, photography enthusiasts may find it helpful to identify their highest-priority Magic Shots before arriving.

Locations and offerings remain subject to operational changes.

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party runs November 8 through December 22, 2026, with the new and returning PhotoPass experiences available during the event on participating nights.

For guests who enjoy collecting Disney Magic Shots, the expanded 2026 lineup provides another reason to explore Magic Kingdom’s holiday decorations beyond the major entertainment offerings.
