Nomad Lounge To Go Coming to Animal Kingdom With Mobile Order Churros

By | October 7, 2026

One of Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s most popular snacks is about to become much easier to get.

A new Nomad Lounge To Go dining location has appeared in the My Disney Experience app, revealing that Walt Disney World is preparing to introduce mobile ordering for select items from the popular Discovery Island lounge.

The feature is not accepting orders as of October 7, so Disney has not officially activated the service yet. Its appearance inside Disney’s own app, however, provides a clear look at what guests can expect when it launches.

And the first item Disney is promoting is the one many Animal Kingdom regulars will care about most: Nomad Lounge’s churros.

According to the new listing, guests will be able to use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering to order freshly prepared churros in advance and then pick them up during a selected arrival window.

That may sound like a relatively small operational change, but it solves a longstanding problem surrounding Nomad Lounge.

The lounge is one of Animal Kingdom’s most popular places to take a break, and its relatively limited capacity can make getting inside difficult during busier periods.

Nomad Lounge does not operate like a conventional quick-service restaurant where guests simply walk to a counter and order.

It is primarily a lounge experience with indoor and outdoor seating, cocktails, small plates and table service. Guests without an advance reservation generally rely on Disney’s walk-up list when space is available.

For someone who simply wants the churros, that can make a quick snack considerably more complicated than it needs to be.

Nomad Lounge To Go should change that.

Rather than joining the walk-up list and waiting for a table, guests will be able to place an order through My Disney Experience, choose an available pickup window and collect the food without committing to the full lounge experience.

Disney has not yet revealed the complete To Go menu.

The app listing specifically highlights the churros, but it is not clear whether other Nomad Lounge dishes or beverages will eventually be available through mobile ordering.

That distinction will be worth watching once Disney activates the service.

The churros have developed a particularly strong following since Nomad Lounge opened alongside Tiffins in 2016.

They are served with dipping sauces rather than as a conventional theme park churro eaten from a paper sleeve. The current presentation pairs the warm churros with vanilla crema and strawberry-guava sauce.

They are also prepared as an allergy-friendly item without gluten, making them an unusually accessible dessert for guests with certain dietary restrictions.

Nomad Lounge itself occupies a waterfront location on Discovery Island, immediately adjacent to Tiffins Restaurant and near the entrance to Pandora – The World of Avatar.

Both locations were developed as part of the larger expansion that ultimately brought Pandora to Animal Kingdom.

While Tiffins became the park’s signature table-service restaurant, Nomad Lounge developed an identity of its own.

Its design draws inspiration from the travels of Walt Disney Imagineers who researched cultures and environments while developing Animal Kingdom. Maps, travel references and questions about exploration are incorporated throughout the space.

The outdoor veranda overlooking Discovery River has helped make the lounge particularly popular.

Nomad’s menu complements that atmosphere with cocktails and smaller dishes that incorporate international influences rather than conventional theme park fare.

That experience is not going away.

Nomad Lounge To Go appears to be an additional service rather than a replacement for the existing lounge. Guests who want cocktails, food and time on the waterfront veranda will still have the regular Nomad Lounge experience available to them.

The new option instead creates a second way to access at least part of the menu.

It is also another example of Disney using mobile ordering beyond traditional counter-service restaurants.

Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering has become a major component of Walt Disney World dining since its introduction in 2017. Guests select a participating restaurant through My Disney Experience, choose an arrival window, place and pay for an order and then tell the app when they have arrived.

The restaurant prepares the food and sends a notification when it is ready for pickup.

At high-volume locations such as Satu’li Canteen, Flame Tree Barbecue and Restaurantosaurus, mobile ordering has become an ordinary part of an Animal Kingdom visit.

Applying that system to a lounge is more unusual.

It potentially allows Disney to serve additional guests from Nomad Lounge’s kitchen without those customers occupying the lounge’s limited tables.

For guests, the practical advantage is even simpler: getting the churros should require considerably less planning.

There are still some unanswered questions.

Disney has not announced an official launch date, operating hours, pickup location or complete menu for Nomad Lounge To Go. The listing is visible in My Disney Experience, but ordering was not active when it was discovered October 7.

The app currently places the new offering in Disney’s standard mobile-order infrastructure, suggesting activation could happen without much additional fanfare.

Until the ordering button actually goes live, guests should continue treating Nomad Lounge as they have before and should not count on To Go service for a specific visit.

But the infrastructure is now there, and Disney’s own description makes its purpose clear.

Soon, getting one of Animal Kingdom’s most sought-after snacks may no longer require getting into Nomad Lounge at all.

Instead, guests should be able to open My Disney Experience, order the churros, select a pickup time and get back to exploring the park.

For anyone who has ever wanted those churros but not the wait for a lounge table, that is a useful little upgrade.
