Aunt Polly’s was a rustic quick-service restaurant located on Tom Sawyer Island in Magic Kingdom. Accessible only by raft from Frontierland, the restaurant overlooked the Rivers of America and offered one of the quietest and most secluded dining experiences in the park. The location permanently closed in 2025 as part of the planned redevelopment of the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island area.

Aunt Polly’s (Disney World Restaurant)

The restaurant was themed as a simple frontier-era riverside home inspired by The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Wooden porches, rocking chairs, shaded seating, and waterfront views gave the location a peaceful atmosphere that felt intentionally removed from the busy pathways of the rest of Magic Kingdom. For many guests, visiting Aunt Polly’s was less about the food and more about slowing down and enjoying a hidden corner of the park.

Throughout its history, the menu featured simple quick-service offerings including sandwiches, snacks, funnel cakes, desserts, and seasonal specialty items. In later years, the restaurant became known for operating only during select high-crowd periods and holidays, which added to its reputation as one of Walt Disney World’s “hidden gem” dining locations. Many longtime fans considered it a rare treat to find the restaurant open during a visit.

Its setting on Tom Sawyer Island made it especially unique. Guests could sit beside the water while watching the Liberty Square Riverboat pass by or simply enjoy the quiet atmosphere beneath the trees. Unlike heavily themed, high-capacity restaurants elsewhere in the park, Aunt Polly’s embraced simplicity and atmosphere over efficiency or spectacle.

The closure of Aunt Polly’s marked the end of one of Magic Kingdom’s last remaining connections to the park’s slower-paced, exploration-focused frontier era. Along with Tom Sawyer Island itself, the restaurant represented an older style of Disney placemaking centered on immersion, relaxation, and discovery rather than major intellectual property or thrill attractions.

Although it no longer operates, Aunt Polly’s remains highly nostalgic for longtime Walt Disney World fans. Its quiet porches, waterfront setting, and secluded location made it one of the most charming and atmospheric dining spots in Magic Kingdom history.
