Fresh Mediterranean Market was a casual table-service restaurant located inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, part of the Swan and Dolphin complex in the EPCOT Resort Area. For many years, it served as one of the resort’s quieter but more reliable dining options, especially for guests looking for breakfast or lunch within walking distance of EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s BoardWalk, and the neighboring Yacht and Beach Club resorts.

The restaurant’s concept centered on bright, approachable Mediterranean-inspired food, drawing from the flavors of Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Morocco. Rather than presenting itself as a formal destination restaurant, Fresh Mediterranean Market leaned into a lighter, market-style identity. Its breakfast service became its strongest calling card, with buffet offerings, made-to-order elements, fresh juices, carved meats, pastries, fruit, and familiar morning staples. Lunch typically shifted toward lighter fare such as salads, wraps, sandwiches, and seasonal items, making it a convenient midday option for convention guests, resort visitors, and parkgoers moving through the Crescent Lake area.

Historically, Fresh Mediterranean Market fit the Dolphin’s broader dining personality. The Swan and Dolphin have long stood apart from Disney-operated resorts by offering a more convention-friendly, hotel-driven restaurant lineup, with nationally known chefs, lounges, steakhouses, and casual options designed to serve both vacationers and business travelers. Fresh filled the important middle ground between quick-service convenience and upscale dining. It was not as famous as Todd English’s bluezoo, Shula’s Steak House, or Il Mulino, but it had a loyal following among guests who valued a calm breakfast spot away from the busiest in-park crowds.

Its closure marked another step in the Swan and Dolphin’s ongoing dining refresh. The former Fresh Mediterranean Market space was replaced by Rosa Mexicano, bringing a more vibrant, full-service Mexican dining concept to the Dolphin. That change gave the resort a flashier and more brand-recognizable restaurant, but it also meant the loss of a dependable breakfast-and-lunch venue that many repeat guests associated with relaxed mornings near EPCOT.

Today, Fresh Mediterranean Market is remembered less as a major Walt Disney World dining landmark and more as a useful, underrated resort restaurant from the Dolphin’s previous dining era. Its legacy rests in the role it played: a comfortable, Mediterranean-leaning spot where guests could start the day with a substantial breakfast, escape the park crowds for lunch, or enjoy a quieter meal in one of Walt Disney World’s most walkable resort districts.
