Rose & Crown Dining Room at EPCOT Closing for Refurbishment in February 2027

Another EPCOT restaurant refurbishment has been added to Walt Disney World’s 2027 calendar, and this one affects one of World Showcase’s longest-running dining locations.

Rose & Crown Dining Room in the United Kingdom pavilion is scheduled to close for refurbishment beginning February 15, 2027.

The adjacent Rose & Crown Pub is expected to remain open during the work, allowing guests to continue stopping inside the United Kingdom pavilion for British beers, ciders, cocktails and other beverages even while the table-service dining room is unavailable.

Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for the restaurant or provided details about the scope of the refurbishment.

That makes the February 15 closure date the most important piece of information for guests planning early 2027 vacations, particularly anyone hoping to book a meal at Rose & Crown.

The restaurant currently serves dinner from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with both indoor seating and a popular outdoor patio overlooking World Showcase Lagoon.

Its menu is built around British pub fare.

Current entrées include fish and chips, bangers and mash, cottage pie and vegetable tikka masala, while longtime favorites such as the Scotch egg and sticky toffee pudding remain part of the lineup.

Rose & Crown’s waterfront location has also made it an especially desirable dinner reservation for guests hoping to combine a meal with EPCOT’s nighttime entertainment.

Tables on or near the lagoon provide some of the restaurant’s most distinctive views, although Disney does not guarantee a particular table location when guests make dining reservations.

The upcoming refurbishment is notable because Rose & Crown is one of the veteran restaurants of World Showcase.

The United Kingdom pavilion debuted with EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982, and Rose & Crown has been part of the pavilion since the park’s opening era. Its architecture combines details inspired by several styles of British pubs rather than reproducing one specific historic building.

The restaurant and pub operate as related but distinct experiences.

Rose & Crown Dining Room is a table-service restaurant where advance reservations are highly recommended. Rose & Crown Pub is the smaller bar space attached to the restaurant and generally functions as a walk-up location.

Disney’s current pub menu includes British and Irish beers and ciders along with scotches and specialty cocktails.

That distinction becomes especially important during the 2027 refurbishment.

The announced work applies to the Dining Room, not the entire Rose & Crown complex. Current information indicates the pub will continue operating while the restaurant is closed.

The nearby United Kingdom Beer Cart provides another option for guests looking for beer or cider in the pavilion.

What remains unclear is how extensive the restaurant project will be.

Disney has not said whether the refurbishment will focus primarily on maintenance and interior finishes or involve larger changes to the dining room, kitchen, patio or guest experience.

There is also no indication at this point that Rose & Crown is receiving a new concept.

Until Disney announces otherwise, guests should treat this as a refurbishment of the existing restaurant rather than a replacement or reimagining.

The timing places the closure during an interesting stretch of EPCOT’s annual calendar.

A February 15 start would occur shortly before the period when EPCOT typically transitions from the International Festival of the Arts toward the International Flower & Garden Festival.

Depending on the eventual duration of the refurbishment, Rose & Crown could be unavailable for at least part of the busy spring festival season.

Disney has not yet provided enough information to determine whether that will happen.

Guests with vacations scheduled around February 15 should also watch dining availability carefully.

Walt Disney World dining reservations generally become available approximately 60 days in advance, meaning travelers planning mid-February stays may encounter a shortened reservation window for Rose & Crown as the refurbishment approaches.

The restaurant remains open for now.

The February closure nevertheless adds another project to EPCOT’s evolving 2027 refurbishment schedule.

For guests who consider dinner at Rose & Crown part of a World Showcase tradition, the practical takeaway is straightforward: February 14, 2027, is currently the final day before the announced refurbishment begins on February 15.

Exactly when the dining room will welcome guests back remains to be announced.
