The Four Neighborhoods of Disney Springs

Inspired by the turn-of-the-century coastal towns of Florida, the district is divided into four distinct areas, each with its own architectural style and history:

• The Marketplace: The family-centric hub featuring World of Disney, The LEGO Store, and the Rainforest Cafe.
• The Landing: A collection of high-end dining including The BOATHOUSE, Morimoto Asia, and the upcoming Six Ravens (from the creators of Gideon’s Bakehouse).
• Town Center: The upscale retail heart featuring brands like Zara, UNIQLO, and Anthropologie.
• West Side: The entertainment powerhouse, home to Cirque du Soleil: Drawn to Life, House of Blues, and the massive new LEVEL99 challenge complex.

A Brief History: From Village to Springs

The story of Disney Springs mirrors the evolution of the modern leisure experience. It has existed in three major eras:

1. Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village (1975-1989): A quiet lakeside retreat for resort residents featuring quaint shops like the Pottery Chalet.
2. Downtown Disney (1989-2015): A nightlife-driven era defined by Pleasure Island, the Adventurers Club, and the massive growth of the West Side.
3. Disney Springs (2015-Present): A complete reimagining that doubled the capacity of the district and introduced a sophisticated, unified theme centered around a natural Florida spring.

2026 Planning: Parking & New Openings

As of February 2026, visitors should be aware of a few significant changes to the district:

• Parking Update: The Lime Garage is undergoing a phased refurbishment and is closed from February 17 through March 13, 2026. Guests are encouraged to use the Orange Garage or Grapefruit Garage and check the My Disney Experience app for live parking capacity.
• Dining News: Construction is well underway for Six Ravens, a savory hand-pie concept from Gideon’s Bakehouse founder Steve Lewis, slated to open later this year.
• Entertainment: The former NBA Experience building is now becoming LEVEL99, a 45,000-square-foot adult challenge environment with over 60 rooms.
