Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is one of Magic Kingdom’s most popular special experiences for younger guests. Located in Fantasyland with its entrance behind Cinderella Castle, the boutique is designed as an enchanted salon where children ages 3 to 12 can receive a storybook makeover from the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices. The experience is themed around the transformation scene from Disney’s 1950 animated classic Cinderella, giving families the opportunity to turn an ordinary park day into a carefully staged royal occasion.
The makeover packages range from a knight-themed option with hairstyling, a sword, and a shield to more elaborate princess experiences featuring shimmering makeup, nail polish, accessories, and a choice of hairstyle. The most extensive package also includes a Disney Princess gown, crown, and wand. Depending on the selected package, the transformation can take up to 90 minutes. Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother may also make an appearance, although character visits are subject to change. Advance reservations are highly recommended because appointments remain in strong demand.
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique concept first debuted inside the World of Disney store at Downtown Disney on April 5, 2006. Its popularity led Disney to open a second Walt Disney World location inside Cinderella Castle on September 10, 2007. The Magic Kingdom boutique replaced The King’s Gallery, a longstanding castle shop that had sold handcrafted jewelry, imported gifts, Arribas Brothers glasswork, and, later, Disney artwork.
The experience expanded again in 2019 when the nearby Castle Couture shop transitioned into a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique check-in location. This helped the attraction accommodate families without losing the intimacy of the salon itself.
Today, the Magic Kingdom location has become the definitive version of the experience. Walt Disney World’s official listings currently identify the Disney Springs and Grand Floridian boutiques as temporarily unavailable, making the Cinderella Castle boutique the resort’s active destination for these transformations. Its appeal is not based on a ride system or elaborate special effects, but on the chance for a child to step into a Disney fairytale and leave the castle looking ready for a royal ball.
