The 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts returns to EPCOT from January 15 through March 1, 2027, bringing visual art, live performances, creative food, interactive experiences, Disney artists, Broadway stars, and plenty of Figment-inspired imagination back to Walt Disney World.
The 2027 festival will run for 46 days, a full week longer than the 2026 event. It is also arriving exactly a decade after the first EPCOT International Festival of the Arts debuted in January 2017.
For 2027, the festival is officially presented by Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, which will have an expanded presence following its festival activities in 2026. Disney has already confirmed the return of the Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt, Collection Quest, Illumineer’s Lounge, festival-exclusive promotional items and gifts with purchase, along with the first Disney Lorcana card to feature Figment.
Food remains an important part of the celebration as well. Disney has confirmed 19 Food Studios throughout EPCOT for 2027, while the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine returns as the festival’s culinary challenge.
The DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series will once again fill the America Gardens Theatre with performers from Disney stage productions, while Animation Academy, live artists, the Expression Section: A Paint by Number Mural, Artful Photo Ops, and other hands-on activities turn much of EPCOT into an interactive art gallery.
Admission to the festival is included with valid EPCOT admission. Food and drinks, merchandise, scavenger hunts, dining packages and certain other experiences cost extra.
Disney has announced the major framework of the 2027 festival, but several details—including the complete Food Studio menus, DISNEY ON BROADWAY performer lineup, visiting-artist schedule and some activity pricing—will not be released until closer to opening day. The History of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts
The Festival of the Arts is the youngest of EPCOT’s four major annual festivals, arriving decades after the park established its Flower & Garden and Food & Wine traditions.
Its creation gave Disney an opportunity to build an EPCOT festival around something broader than food, horticulture or the holidays. Instead, Festival of the Arts was designed around three interconnected disciplines: visual arts, performing arts and culinary arts.

The First Festival of the Arts in 2017
The inaugural EPCOT International Festival of the Arts began on January 13, 2017, and continued through February 20.
Unlike the modern festival, it did not initially operate seven days a week. The first event was presented from Friday through Monday each week, essentially turning six winter weekends into a celebration of Disney art, food and entertainment.
Many elements that now define Festival of the Arts were already recognizable during that first season.
Disney artists displayed and created artwork throughout EPCOT, culinary teams developed dishes with an emphasis on presentation as well as flavor, and Disney Theatrical Productions brought Broadway performers to the park.
Among the inaugural DISNEY ON BROADWAY performers were Ashley Brown, known for originating the title role in Mary Poppins on Broadway, and Josh Strickland, who originated Tarzan in Disney’s Broadway production.
Figment was also closely associated with the festival from the beginning. The character’s connection to imagination and creativity made him a natural unofficial mascot for an event celebrating the artistic process.
The Festival Quickly Expands
Festival of the Arts returned in 2018 from January 12 through February 19 and continued to broaden its scope.
Early editions placed significant emphasis on seminars, workshops and opportunities to learn directly from working artists. Guests could explore subjects ranging from animation and photography to calligraphy, drawing and other artistic disciplines.
Over time, the festival developed a collection of traditions that were less about passively viewing art and more about participating in it.
Guests could help paint enormous murals one numbered square at a time, learn to sketch Disney characters, pose inside recreations of famous paintings, search World Showcase for Figment, watch chalk artists transform pavement into elaborate illustrations and meet the artists responsible for Disney-inspired works being sold around the park.
The Food Studios also became increasingly sophisticated. Rather than simply adding another version of EPCOT’s marketplace model, Festival of the Arts encouraged Disney chefs to treat the plate itself as a canvas.
Deconstructed dishes, unusual colors, elaborate desserts and presentations inspired by specific artistic styles became a defining part of the festival.
The Festival During the Pandemic Era
In 2021, Disney temporarily used the name Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts as Walt Disney World continued operating under modified conditions following the resort’s 2020 closure.
That year’s event ran from January 8 through February 22 and still featured more than 15 Food Studios along with visual-art and culinary experiences.
Like EPCOT’s other festivals, Festival of the Arts gradually returned to a more traditional format as normal entertainment and operations resumed.
CommuniCore Hall Brings New Possibilities
The completion of CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza gave EPCOT a permanent festival facility in the center of World Celebration, opening new possibilities for Festival of the Arts.
In 2026, CommuniCore Hall hosted Once Upon A Stage: The Magic of DISNEY ON BROADWAY, an exhibit featuring costumes, props, theatrical displays, behind-the-scenes information and photo opportunities inspired by Disney stage productions.

When Is the EPCOT Festival of the Arts 2027?
The 2027 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs from January 15 through March 1, 2027.
That gives guests 46 days to experience the festival.
The dates are particularly notable because Disney has extended Festival of the Arts by one full week compared with 2026, when the event ran from January 16 through February 23.
Festival activities take place throughout EPCOT, including World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase.
The festival itself does not require a separate event ticket. Valid EPCOT admission is required, and a theme park reservation may also be necessary depending on the type of admission being used.

Disney Lorcana Takes a Bigger Role in 2027
One of the most significant developments for 2027 is the expanded relationship between Festival of the Arts and Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game.
Disney Lorcana fits unusually well with Festival of the Arts because artwork is fundamental to the trading-card game. Each card combines Disney characters with original illustration, alternate interpretations and the larger visual world of Lorcana.
After appearing as part of the 2026 festival, Lorcana returns in 2027 with several experiences already confirmed.
Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt
The Ink & Find Scavenger Hunt will return for 2027.
Disney has not yet released the full rules, locations or any purchase requirements for the new version of the hunt, but the experience will once again give guests a way to explore EPCOT through Disney Lorcana artwork.

No previous drawing experience is necessary. The artist builds the character from simple shapes while explaining each stage, allowing even guests who insist they “can’t draw” to leave with their own piece of Disney artwork.
In recent festivals, Animation Academy has been presented at the America Gardens Theatre.

Because sessions can be popular, arriving before the scheduled start rather than walking up at the last moment is generally a good strategy.
Expression Section: A Paint by Number Mural
The Expression Section returns in 2027 as one of Festival of the Arts’ most recognizable interactive experiences.
Instead of merely looking at artwork, guests help create an enormous mural.
Participants receive a small cup of paint and are assigned numbered squares on a giant canvas. Each person fills in only a few squares, but thousands of individual contributions gradually reveal the complete image.
It is essentially a communal paint-by-number project performed at theme-park scale.
Completed murals are replaced during the festival, so guests visiting on different dates may encounter entirely different designs.
The activity also embodies one of the event’s strongest ideas: Festival of the Arts is not only about professional artists. Everyone visiting EPCOT is invited to contribute something.
Artful Photo Ops
The Artful Photo Ops return for 2027.
These oversized installations allow guests to physically step inside recreations inspired by famous works of art and Disney imagery.
Instead of standing in front of a painting, you become part of it.
Previous festivals have drawn inspiration from recognizable museum pieces as well as Disney animation, making the photo locations some of the easiest festival activities to enjoy without changing the rest of your EPCOT plans.
They are particularly fun for groups because the sets are designed around posing and interacting with the scene rather than simply standing in front of a backdrop.
What About Kids’ Chalk Art and Chalk Full of Characters?
Two popular recent festival activities are Kids’ Chalk Art and Chalk Full of Characters.
Kids’ Chalk Art provides young guests with space to create their own pavement drawings, while Chalk Full of Characters sends guests looking for smaller Disney character drawings incorporated around World Showcase.
Both were featured during the 2026 festival.
As of September 2026, however, Disney’s current 2027 information still references these as examples from the previous festival rather than specifically confirming their return.
They are strong candidates to appear again, but they should not yet be treated as confirmed 2027 offerings.
Will Figment’s Brush with the Masters Return in 2027?
Figment’s Brush with the Masters has become one of Festival of the Arts’ most recognizable family activities.
The scavenger hunt traditionally sends guests around World Showcase looking for Figment hidden inside or alongside reproductions of famous works of art. Guests purchase a map, locate Figment throughout the park and place the appropriate stickers on the map.
Completed maps can then be redeemed for a small festival keepsake.
Disney’s current Festival of the Arts page continues to highlight Figment’s Brush with the Masters while describing previous festival offerings, but Disney has not yet separately confirmed the scavenger hunt for 2027 or announced its price and prizes.
That distinction is important because the new Disney Lorcana Ink & Find hunt is already confirmed for 2027.
Figment will clearly remain involved with Festival of the Arts through his new Lorcana card, but guests should wait for Disney’s next round of announcements before assuming Brush with the Masters will operate in exactly the same form.
DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series 2027
The DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series is officially returning for the entire 2027 Festival of the Arts.
Performances take place at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure Pavilion.
Rather than using tribute acts or pop performers, Festival of the Arts brings in actors who have actually appeared in Disney theatrical productions.
Performers sing selections associated with Disney stage musicals along with other pieces from the Disney songbook.
Previous festival concerts have featured music from productions including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Tarzan, Newsies, Frozen and others.
Disney has confirmed an interesting structure for 2027: a new pair of Broadway performers will take the spotlight approximately every two weeks.
Several shows will be performed each evening.
The complete performer lineup, individual appearance dates and exact showtimes have not yet been announced.
Regular concert seating is included with EPCOT admission and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
DISNEY ON BROADWAY Dining Packages
Dining packages will return for 2027.
These packages combine a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant with a guaranteed seat at one DISNEY ON BROADWAY performance later that day.
The package is useful for guests visiting specifically to see a particular Broadway performer because it removes much of the uncertainty surrounding standby seating.
Disney has not yet announced the participating 2027 restaurants, prices or booking date.
Those details are expected closer to the festival.
Will Once Upon A Stage Return in 2027?
One of the major additions to the 2026 festival was Once Upon A Stage: The Magic of DISNEY ON BROADWAY inside CommuniCore Hall.
The exhibit took guests behind the scenes of Disney theatrical productions with costumes, props, production material, photo opportunities and displays connected to shows including The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.
It complemented the nightly Broadway concerts by focusing on the work required to bring a theatrical production from concept to stage.
Disney continues to reference the exhibit on its Festival of the Arts website while describing highlights of the 2026 event, but it has not yet been confirmed for 2027.

Culinary art returns in a big way for 2027.
Disney has confirmed 19 Food Studios throughout EPCOT.
Unlike the Global Marketplaces at Food & Wine, Festival of the Arts menus place unusual emphasis on appearance, texture, color and composition.
The goal is not merely to serve international cuisine. Many dishes are designed to look like works of art or reference specific artistic movements and techniques.
Past menus have included deconstructed entrées, elaborate plated desserts, dishes served on artist palettes, colorful beverages and foods designed around everything from Art Deco to Figment.
When Will the 2027 Food Studio Menus Be Released?
Disney has not yet released the 2027 Food Studio menus.
The company says additional information will arrive during the winter, and a Disney Eats Foodie Guide is expected closer to the beginning of the festival.
That means any website currently presenting a full 2027 menu months before Disney releases one is almost certainly displaying previous-year information.
The confirmed number for 2027 is 19 Food Studios, but the individual Studio names and complete menus are still to come.

Those 2026 names are useful for understanding the type of culinary experiences associated with the event, but Disney has not yet confirmed that every location will return unchanged in 2027.
Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine 2027
The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is returning for the 2027 festival.
This self-guided food stroll uses the complimentary Festival Passport to connect specially designated menu items around EPCOT.
Guests purchase qualifying dishes and collect stamps in the passport before eventually redeeming the completed challenge for a festival treat.
During the 2026 event, guests needed to purchase five qualifying items, and the reward was redeemed at Deco Delights near Port of Entry.
Disney has not yet released the 2027 list of qualifying dishes or confirmed whether the exact redemption rules will remain unchanged.
One advantage of the activity is that it does not generally need to be completed in a single afternoon. Guests returning to EPCOT during the festival can work through the food stroll over multiple visits, provided they keep the same Festival Passport.
Festival Passport
One of the first things to pick up after entering EPCOT is the complimentary Festival Passport.
The booklet functions as a compact guide to the event and traditionally includes Food Studio information, activity details, maps and the tracking section for the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.
Even if you have already researched the festival online, having the physical passport makes it considerably easier to keep track of food locations while walking around EPCOT.

1. Don’t Treat It Like Food & Wine
The Food Studios are excellent, but making them the entire focus misses much of what makes this festival different.
Make time for live artists, galleries, Animation Academy, the Expression Section and the Broadway concerts.
A good Festival of the Arts day alternates between eating, watching and actually creating something.
2. Check the Artist Schedule Before Your Visit
The artwork may remain on display throughout the festival, but individual artists do not.
If there is an artist you specifically want to meet or have sign a piece, check Disney’s visiting-artist schedule shortly before your trip.
Do not assume someone appearing during opening weekend will still be there several weeks later.
3. Pick Up the Festival Passport
The physical Festival Passport remains one of the simplest ways to organize your day.
It is especially useful if you are participating in the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine.
4. Do Interactive Art Before You Forget About It
It is very easy to walk into EPCOT with good intentions, become distracted by rides and food, and suddenly realize it is nighttime.
If Animation Academy or the Expression Section is important to you, work at least one of them into the first half of your day.

Festival portions are built for sampling.
Sharing dishes allows you to experience several different Food Studios without reaching your limit after only a few stops.

The major pieces that are confirmed—46 festival days, 19 Food Studios, Disney on Broadway, the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, Animation Academy, Expression Section, Artful Photo Ops, live artists and the expanded Disney Lorcana presence—already make the shape of the 2027 event clear.
The remaining details will fill in the schedule as January approaches.
A Decade of Imagination at EPCOT
Festival of the Arts has come a long way from the six long weekends that made up its inaugural 2017 season.
Ten years later, the 2027 festival stretches across 46 days and turns almost every part of EPCOT into some form of gallery, stage, kitchen or studio.
That is the real strength of the event.
You can watch a professional artist paint a Disney character, draw one yourself at Animation Academy, add several tiny squares to a mural, step inside a famous painting, sample a plate designed like a work of art, meet the person who created a piece you want to take home, hunt through EPCOT for collectibles and finish the evening listening to Broadway performers sing songs they once performed onstage.
For 2027, the addition of a much larger Disney Lorcana presence gives the festival another way to connect visual art, collecting and interactive exploration, while the extra week gives guests more opportunities than ever to experience it.
Disney still has plenty of 2027 information left to reveal, so this is one festival where it is worth checking back as your trip approaches.
