Disney Junior Dance Party!

Disney Junior Dance Party! was an interactive stage show created for the youngest visitors to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Presented inside Soundstage 5 in Animation Courtyard, the attraction traded traditional theater seating for an open dance floor, allowing preschool-age guests to stand, move, sing, and play along with familiar television characters. Parents could sit on the carpet with their children or use the limited bench seating around the perimeter of the room, making the show a useful air-conditioned break during a busy park day.

The original version debuted on December 22, 2018, replacing Disney Junior – Live on Stage!, the puppet-based production that had occupied the venue since the Playhouse Disney era. The newer show adopted the atmosphere of a children’s concert rather than a conventional narrative. Finn Fiesta and DJ Deejay served as hosts, encouraging the audience to dance as characters arrived for individual musical segments. The lineup included Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Timon representing The Lion Guard, and Mickey Mouse in his racing outfit from Mickey and the Roadster Racers. Lighting effects, bubbles, streamers, and simulated snow added to the party atmosphere.

After Walt Disney World reopened in 2020, the attraction returned in a modified form under the name Disney Junior Play & Dance! The revised version was shorter, lasting approximately 10 minutes, and initially used designated “party zones” to keep families separated. The live storyline was removed, but the central appeal remained intact: a DJ played upbeat songs while Mickey, Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Timon appeared onstage one by one before returning for a finale.

Disney Junior Play & Dance! gave its final performances in 2025. The venue temporarily shifted to the Get Animated! dance party during the summer before the former offering permanently closed on September 25 as part of the redevelopment of Animation Courtyard. The surrounding area has since been transformed into the Walt Disney Studios Lot, inspired by Disney Animation’s Burbank campus.

The venue’s preschool focus has not disappeared. Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! debuted in 2026, bringing Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto into a new interactive musical adventure. Disney Junior Dance Party! is now remembered as a transitional attraction: less elaborate than its puppet-show predecessor, but energetic, accessible, and carefully designed to give young children a space where sitting still was never required.
