Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party was a premium character dining event at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, held in the elegant Garden View Lounge. Created for young princess fans and their accompanying adults, the experience blended afternoon tea, storytelling, music, keepsakes, and character interaction into one of Walt Disney World’s most elaborate resort-based upcharge offerings. It was especially associated with Princess Aurora, whose fairy-tale world shaped the event’s tone, gifts, and presentation.
The experience was far more theatrical than a standard character meal. Children were treated as honored royal guests and guided through a gentle tea-party storyline led by Rose Petal, a magical rose from Aurora’s garden who served as host. The event included sing-alongs, storytelling, a princess parade, tea service, and a visit from Princess Aurora herself when offered in its classic format. The included keepsakes were a major part of the appeal, often featuring items such as a princess doll, tiara, bracelet, fresh rose, scrapbook-style page, or other royal-themed mementos depending on the package and era.

Its location made the event feel even more special. The Grand Floridian’s Victorian architecture, garden views, polished service style, and long association with weddings, fine dining, and formal afternoon tea gave the tea party a sense of occasion that fit the princess concept beautifully. Unlike a theme-park meal, Perfectly Princess Tea felt deliberately removed from the rush of attractions and crowds. It was a slower, more ceremonial experience designed around memory-making, photographs, and one-on-one family time.
Historically, the tea party was part of Walt Disney World’s larger expansion of premium character and “Enchanting Extras” experiences. It gave Disney a way to elevate princess interaction beyond a meet-and-greet or buffet meal, turning it into a structured event with storytelling, etiquette, music, gifts, and a resort-luxury setting. For families willing to pay the high price, it could feel like a once-in-a-childhood experience rather than simply another dining reservation.
Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party was suspended during the 2020 resort-wide closures and has not returned in its original form. As of mid-2025, Disney had not announced a 2026 return for Perfectly Princess Tea. The Garden View Lounge did reopen in 2026 with a new Garden View Lounge – Tea Experience, featuring Twinings tea, scones, small bites, pastries, children’s afternoon tea, and an Alice in Wonderland-inspired theme, but that current offering is distinct from the former Princess Aurora-centered tea party.
Today, Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party is remembered as one of the Grand Floridian’s most charming discontinued experiences: expensive, highly specific, deeply sentimental, and designed for families who wanted a more intimate princess moment than the parks could usually provide.
