The WDW Expert is an independent Walt Disney World fan site dedicated to exploring the resort of today while also preserving and celebrating its history.
I cover all things Walt Disney World, including the latest news and updates, vacation planning tips, attractions, restaurants, resorts, upcoming projects, and deep dives into the rides, shows, restaurants, and experiences that are no longer with us.
Whether you are planning your first Walt Disney World vacation, trying to keep up with everything changing around the resort, or simply looking back fondly on the Disney World of years past, my goal is to make The WDW Expert a useful resource for Disney fans of all kinds.
My connection to Walt Disney World goes back more than 40 years. I have been visiting the resort regularly for most of my life and have watched it change considerably along the way. Attractions have opened and closed, entire areas of the parks have been transformed, resorts and restaurants have come and gone, and Disney World itself has grown into a very different place from the one I first experienced decades ago.
I’ve also been writing about Walt Disney World and Disney history for more than a decade. The WDW Expert gives me a place to combine those two interests: following what is happening at the resort today while digging deeper into the stories, history, and details behind it.

I try to go beyond simply reporting that something opened, closed, or changed. Whenever possible, I want to explain the history behind it, what came before it, and how it fits into the larger story of Walt Disney World.
Most importantly, this site is written for people who enjoy Disney World as much as I do. Some of you may visit several times a year, while others may not have been back in decades. Either way, I hope you find something here that is useful, interesting, or brings back a few good memories.
