Meeting Disney characters has been part of the Walt Disney World experience almost since the resort opened, but finding a favorite character is not always as simple as walking into a park and looking around. Walt Disney World covers an enormous amount of ground, character schedules can change from one day to another, and many characters appear only in one particular park, restaurant, seasonal event, or corner of the resort.
That has become even more true in 2026. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has completely reshuffled its character lineup following the closure of DinoLand U.S.A. and the arrival of Bluey and Zootopia. EPCOT now has a dedicated Mickey & Friends location at CommuniCore Hall. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has expanded its Pixar and Disney Junior offerings and is preparing to open a major new Disney Animation character area. Meanwhile, Magic Kingdom continues to offer the largest collection of traditional Disney Princess, classic-character, and storybook meet-and-greets.
This guide focuses primarily on characters that guests can actually interact with rather than every Disney character who appears momentarily in a ride or stage production. We have also included character dining, roaming characters, interactive experiences, parades, and limited-time events where they provide a meaningful opportunity to see characters you might not encounter elsewhere.

How to Find Disney Characters in the My Disney Experience App
Disney no longer expects guests to rely on a printed character schedule. The easiest way to find most scheduled meet-and-greets is through the My Disney Experience app.
- Open the park map in My Disney Experience.
- Select the category menu at the top of the map.
- Choose Characters.
- Select the park you are visiting.
- Use the map pins or tap Show List to see the available characters.
- Select a character to see the current location and scheduled appearance times.
This is especially important for outdoor characters who appear in sets rather than continuously throughout the day.
Keep in mind that not every character encounter appears in the app. Some roaming and surprise characters—particularly at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, resorts, and special events—can appear without a published schedule.
Disney World Character Appearances 2026
Magic Kingdom Character Appearances
Magic Kingdom remains the best Walt Disney World park for guests whose main goal is meeting traditional Disney characters. Its lineup combines Mickey and friends, Disney Princesses, storybook characters, character dining, and several large-scale parades.
Main Street, U.S.A.
- Mickey Mouse – Town Square Theater. Guests enter Mickey’s backstage rehearsal room for a traditional indoor greeting with photos and autographs.
- Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore – Appear during character meals at The Crystal Palace.
Adventureland
- Characters from Aladdin – Aladdin and Jasmine are among the characters who appear in Adventureland near the Agrabah area. The exact character and schedule can vary, so check the app.
Captain Jack Sparrow is not currently a standard daily scheduled meet-and-greet, although he can appear during special events such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
Fantasyland
- Cinderella and a Visiting Princess – Princess Fairytale Hall
- Princess Tiana and a Visiting Princess – Princess Fairytale Hall
- Ariel – Ariel’s Grotto
- Belle – Enchanted Tales with Belle. This is an interactive storytelling attraction rather than a conventional meet-and-greet.
- Mirabel – Fairytale Garden
- Peter Pan – Fantasyland near Peter Pan’s Flight
- Winnie the Pooh and Tigger – The Thotful Spot beside The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Older versions of this guide listed Gaston near Gaston’s Tavern and the Beast at Be Our Guest Restaurant. Neither should currently be considered a regular scheduled Walt Disney World character greeting.
Storybook Circus
Pete’s Silly Sideshow has returned with one of Magic Kingdom’s best collections of classic Disney characters, all wearing elaborate circus costumes:
- Minnie Magnifique
- Daisy Fortuna
- The Astounding Donaldo
- The Great Goofini
Because all four characters are located in the same Storybook Circus complex, Pete’s Silly Sideshow is particularly efficient for families trying to collect classic Disney character photos and autographs.
Limited-Time: Jessie’s Roundup
Through September 8, 2026, The Diamond Horseshoe in Frontierland is home to Jessie’s Roundup: A Rip-Roarin’ Revue!
The interactive Toy Story experience includes Jessie, Woody, and Bullseye in a Western-themed hoedown with music, dancing, and games. This is entertainment rather than a conventional meet-and-greet and is scheduled to end with Disney’s Cool KIDS’ SUMMER promotion.
Magic Kingdom Character Dining
- The Crystal Palace: Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore
- Cinderella’s Royal Table: Cinderella and a rotating selection of Disney Princesses inside Cinderella Castle
Characters in Magic Kingdom Parades
If seeing a character is more important than actually meeting one, Magic Kingdom’s parades dramatically expand the roster.
- Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade features characters from numerous classic Disney and Pixar films.
- Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade provides another opportunity to see a large assortment of characters.
- Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away brings characters from several Disney and Pixar stories into Magic Kingdom’s nighttime parade.
Parade characters generally do not stop for individual photos or autographs.
EPCOT Character Appearances
EPCOT has quietly become one of the best character parks at Walt Disney World. In addition to Mickey and friends, the park offers one of the resort’s largest collections of Disney Princesses and several characters who are difficult to find anywhere else.
Mickey & Friends at CommuniCore Hall
EPCOT’s primary classic-character greeting is now Mickey & Friends inside CommuniCore Hall in World Celebration.

- Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse – Meet Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams. Minnie appears in Hollywood glamour while Mickey appears as Sorcerer Mickey.

- Ariel – The live-action version of Ariel from The Little Mermaid currently greets guests at Walt Disney Presents.
Pixar Plaza
Pixar Plaza contains one of Walt Disney World’s strongest concentrations of Pixar characters:

Exact combinations and times can vary, so check the app if a particular Pixar character is a must-do.

The Toys appear around Andy’s backyard at scheduled times throughout the day.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Batuu handles characters differently from most Disney lands. Rather than standing at clearly marked meet-and-greet locations, many Star Wars characters roam the land and interact with guests as though everyone is part of the story.
Depending on the day, guests may encounter characters including:

- Chewbacca
- Kylo Ren
- First Order Stormtroopers
- Vi Moradi
- The Mandalorian and Grogu
- R2-D2 on select appearances
Kylo Ren also appears during the First Order Searches for the Resistance encounter. These experiences are intentionally less structured than a traditional Disney character greeting, so you should not assume every character will be available for a posed photo or autograph.
Darth Vader
Darth Vader also makes scheduled appearances in the Star Tours area, providing a more traditional opportunity to encounter one of Star Wars’ most famous villains.
Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!
New in 2026, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! features Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Clubhouse friends in a musical stage experience.
This is a show rather than a character meet-and-greet, but it provides another major character experience for families with younger children.
Hollywood & Vine Character Dining
Hollywood & Vine now offers Minnie’s Seasonal Dining at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with Minnie Mouse and friends wearing costumes that change throughout the year.
The old Disney Junior Play ‘n Dine lineup featuring characters such as Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the First should no longer be used as the restaurant’s current 2026 character description.
Coming September 14, 2026: The Magic of Disney Animation
A major new character destination opens at Hollywood Studios on September 14, 2026.
The Magic of Disney Animation transforms the former Animation Courtyard area into a celebration of Disney animation. One of its centerpiece experiences, Off the Page!, will contain multiple spaces based on stages of the animation process, with rotating Disney characters available for photos.
The project also includes Olaf Draws, Drawn to Wonderland, and the Once Upon a Studio Theater.
Because this guide is being updated before the September 14 opening, the final day-to-day character lineup is not yet included in the current list above. We will update this page once the new area begins regular operation.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Character Appearances
No Walt Disney World park has seen more character changes in 2026 than Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The permanent closure of DinoLand U.S.A. displaced several long-running character locations, Zootopia introduced two major new greetings, and Bluey and Bingo arrived at Conservation Station.
The Oasis
- Rafiki – Rafiki now greets guests in the Oasis rather than at his former Rafiki’s Planet Watch location.
- Timon – Rotates with Rafiki during scheduled greeting periods.
- Pocahontas – Located in a natural setting along the Oasis, before the bridge to Discovery Island.
- Donald Duck and Daisy Duck – Appear in safari-themed outfits near the front of the park.
Discovery Island
- Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde – The Gathering Spot near the Tree of Life, outside Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
- Moana – Character Landing
- Russell from Up – May make surprise appearances along the Discovery Trails. Russell’s appearances do not always show in My Disney Experience.
- Kevin and Dug – May also roam Discovery Island on select occasions.
Judy and Nick have become especially popular since their Animal Kingdom greeting debuted, so allow extra time if they are a priority.
Adventurers Outpost
- Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse – Meet together in their Animal Kingdom safari gear at Adventurers Outpost.
The safari outfits are exclusive to Animal Kingdom and make this one of the more distinctive Mickey-and-Minnie photo opportunities at Walt Disney World.
Asia
- Goofy and Pluto – Look for the pair in safari-inspired outfits in the Asia section of the park.
Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station
Bluey and Bingo officially arrived at Walt Disney World in May 2026.
Guests take the Wildlife Express Train from Harambe to Conservation Station for Bluey’s Wild World, where children and families play games, dance, and interact with Bluey and Bingo.
This is important: Bluey’s Wild World is not a traditional meet-and-greet. Bluey and Bingo interact with the entire group rather than greeting families one at a time. Disney does not offer individual character photos or autographs as part of this experience.
Guests should check My Disney Experience for the current Wildlife Express Train and Conservation Station access procedure before visiting.
Tusker House Character Dining
Tusker House Restaurant in Africa offers character dining at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Donald Duck hosts alongside Mickey Mouse and other Disney friends dressed for safari, making the restaurant another opportunity to see the Animal Kingdom-specific costumes without waiting in multiple outdoor character lines.
Disney World Resort Character Appearances
You do not necessarily need a theme park ticket to meet Disney characters. Several Disney Resort hotels contain character restaurants, making them excellent options for arrival days, rest days, or families who want character interactions without entering a park.

What Happened to Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast?
Older versions of this guide included Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel, and Prince Eric at Trattoria al Forno’s Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast.
That character breakfast stopped operating during Walt Disney World’s 2020 pandemic closure and has still not returned as of August 2026. Trattoria al Forno continues to serve breakfast, but the current meal does not include characters.
Limited-Time Resort Character Appearances in 2026
As part of Cool KIDS’ SUMMER, Disney is also offering scheduled character appearances through September 8, 2026 at:

Rare Disney Characters at Special Events
Some of the most unusual Disney World character opportunities are reserved for separately ticketed seasonal events.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select Magic Kingdom nights from August 7 through October 31, 2026.
The event includes characters in Halloween costumes and appearances that are not normally part of a regular Magic Kingdom day. The 2026 party includes a masquerade with Stitch, Lilo, and Angel, Storybook Circus characters in special attire, pirate entertainment featuring Captain Jack Sparrow, and numerous characters throughout Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade.
Jack Skellington and Sally also remain among the event’s most sought-after character experiences.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns to Magic Kingdom on select nights from November 8 through December 22, 2026.
Disney characters appear in holiday attire, and the party traditionally provides access to character combinations and costumes that are unavailable during normal operating hours.
Disney Jollywood Nights
Disney Jollywood Nights returns to Hollywood Studios beginning November 7, 2026 and is another particularly strong event for rare characters.
Disney has announced returning appearances that include characters such as Duffy, Santa Stitch, Phineas and Ferb, Powerline Max, Bing Bong, Partysaurus Rex, Rescue Rangers Chip ‘n’ Dale, The Mandalorian and Grogu, and several Pixar and classic Disney characters.
Because special-event lineups change from year to year, always check the current year’s entertainment guide before purchasing a ticket primarily for one specific character.
Tips for Meeting Disney Characters at Walt Disney World
1. Check My Disney Experience on the Day of Your Visit
Do not build a character plan entirely from a guide written weeks or months before your trip. Disney routinely adjusts times, locations, and even character lineups.
Use this page to determine which park normally has the characters you want, then confirm everything in My Disney Experience that morning.
2. Prioritize Characters With Short Appearance Windows
Indoor characters such as Mickey at Town Square Theater may meet for much of the day. Outdoor characters such as Peter Pan, Belle, Mulan, or Pocahontas often appear only during shorter scheduled sets.
Build your itinerary around the limited characters first.
3. Arrive Before the Published Appearance Time
For characters with individual sets, the line may be cut before the posted ending time once enough guests are waiting.
If someone is a must-meet, arriving roughly 10 to 15 minutes before a scheduled set can be much safer than walking up shortly before it ends.
4. Understand the Difference Between a Meet-and-Greet and a Character Appearance
A scheduled character greeting normally allows individual interaction, photos, and—in many cases—autographs.
Roaming characters in Galaxy’s Edge, characters in parades, Bluey and Bingo at Bluey’s Wild World, and performers in stage shows operate differently. You may be able to interact with them, but a posed family picture or autograph is not necessarily part of the experience.
5. Use Character Dining to Save Park Time
If your family wants to meet several classic Disney characters or Princesses, character dining can replace multiple separate queues.
Dining reservations generally open 60 days in advance, and the most popular character meals can fill quickly.
6. Resort Character Dining Does Not Require Park Admission
Chef Mickey’s, Topolino’s Terrace, ‘Ohana, Cape May Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, and Story Book Dining at Artist Point are all located at Disney Resort hotels.
You do not need a theme park ticket to dine at those restaurants.
7. Have Your Camera and Autograph Book Ready
Dedicated greetings generally move continuously. Having your phone or camera unlocked and your autograph book open before reaching the character makes the interaction smoother and gives your family more time to actually enjoy the encounter.
8. Ask Characters Questions
Face characters such as Princesses, Peter Pan, and Star Wars characters can provide some of the most memorable interactions when guests give them something to work with.
Ask Ariel about Flounder, tell Cinderella you have seen Gus and Jaq, ask Peter Pan about Captain Hook, or tell a First Order Stormtrooper that you support the Resistance and see what happens.
9. Don’t Ignore Roaming Characters
Some of the best interactions are not scheduled. Russell, Kevin, Dug, Star Wars characters, and occasional resort visitors can appear without a formal queue.
If you notice an unusual character, take advantage of the opportunity—you may not see them again later.
10. Special Events Are Best for Serious Character Hunters
If meeting unusual characters is one of your biggest Disney World priorities, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Disney Jollywood Nights generally offer far more rare-character opportunities than a normal park day.
