Ellen’s Energy Adventure

Ellen’s Energy Adventure was a once-iconic attraction located at Epcot . The attraction was an educational and entertaining journey that explored the history and future of energy production and conservation. Although it was closed permanently in 2017 to make way for a new attraction, it still holds a special place in the hearts of Disney enthusiasts.

The attraction was hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, who reprised her role as Ellen from the popular 1990s sitcom “Ellen.” The adventure began in the Universe of Energy Pavilion, where guests were seated in large, theater-like vehicles known as “traveling theater cars.” These cars took visitors on a time-traveling adventure through various scenes and eras, guided by Ellen and her friend Bill Nye the Science Guy.

The journey included encounters with audio-animatronic dinosaurs, which provided a playful and memorable element to the experience. Guests learned about the different sources of energy, from fossil fuels to renewable energy options, and the importance of energy conservation.

One of the highlights of Ellen’s Energy Adventure was the dramatic conclusion, which featured a trip through a primeval diorama and an exhilarating finale showcasing the potential future of clean and sustainable energy sources.

While Ellen’s Energy Adventure is no longer in operation, it played an essential role in Epcot’s commitment to education and environmental awareness. It blended entertainment and education seamlessly, leaving visitors with a greater appreciation for the importance of energy conservation and innovation.

Though the attraction has been retired, its legacy lives on, and it serves as a reminder of Disney’s dedication to creating immersive and educational experiences that entertain and enlighten visitors of all ages at Walt Disney World Resort.
